AVEVA Application Server Practice Exam

In AVEVA Application Server, the primary purpose of alarms is to generate and log significant system events. Alarms play a crucial role in monitoring the operational status of various components and processes. When a predefined condition is met—such as a measurement exceeding a specified threshold—an alarm is triggered. This alerts operators or system administrators to take action.

Logging these significant events provides a historical record that can be valuable for troubleshooting and performance analysis. By capturing such information, organizations can assess how often alarms occur, the conditions that triggered them, and the response actions taken, aiding in system reliability and efficiency.

While other options like performance metrics, user communication, and security measures are important aspects of system management, they do not encapsulate the specific role of alarms in monitoring substantial changes or issues in the system.
